A thought had randomly occurred to me and I'm curious to see if anyone feels the same way or has had similar behaviors. I have recently caught the "common cold" this past week, mostly just because of our sudden weather change in a normally cold month. Any who, a few days before the onset of most of the symptoms I had the urge to drink a lot of orange juice and get some preventative medicine. Granted this is the second day of the worst symptoms (stuffy nose, headache, and a slight sore throat.) Usually my cold gets much worse but it hasn't been as bad as past years.
A cold is one thing, but it got me thinking about other behaviors that I do that help/prevent a lot of things. A good example would be a few days ago I got back after a long weekend of going home and helping my family, I got back to my dorm on Monday and it was 9:30 and I was already in bed and about to fall asleep (I usually don't fall asleep until around 11-midnight.) I have been watching a lot of those behaviors and I have been noticing that when I get tired I usually am trying to heal myself (Whether it be after lifting, with me now being sick, and a lot of times I get really tired from being in the pool after Wednesday practices.)
I guess my question is, Does anyone else get random urges to help your body heal, protect yourself or any other reasons? I have noticed I do a lot of preventative things like this. I also watched a movie, or I found it on Facebook, I can't remember right now, but I remember watching a video about how wolves found herbs to help them when they are sick or injured. I found this fascinating and I instantly thought of myself and how I tend to do that as well.
So I just thought it was interesting and I'm curious to see if anyone else has noticed this.
