well another one of our rattie girls passed away today. she passed in my arms. she was not sick like our other girl was. It turned out she was badly choking on something. The vet tried everything to dislodge whatever it was but it would not come out. she was given back to me to hold and.. she passed in my arms without being put to sleep. It is a sad day but it was also expected. I had a bad feeling when I seen our girl this morning. It was so sudden I mean very sudden. But she is over the rainbow bridge now..

You have my condolences. I remember when a dog that I knew for a long time had passed away from being really sick. I know how you feel.

Same... my dog which I had for a very long time had to be put down because of a rectum prolapse... we were on vacation and we had to cut it short for a pet emergency... we tried to see if the vets could help him... but apprearently the procedure was expensive... and it was too late for him... .. we had to put him down...

we do like anyone else can. Just because I am what i am does not mean i cannot love something cats are supposed to eat. I have a Werelion friend who loves her bunny very dearly.

Thats not what i meant i just dident understand because weres have prey drives. I could never own something i think of as food as a pet personally. Even growing up with that animal i would be worried i would not consider it a pet during a transformation. I would like to own a chicken but it would have to be locked up indefinitely lol.

I understand that, if I had a pet (AKA my cats) and if a transform.. considering how I would be either a werewolf or werecat (of sorts) my prey drive would turn me considerably hostile towards them and thus make me wanna.. consume them. This is why I plan ahead and think about what I should do when I transform. Either stay in my room or try to keep a window open and jump out when that happens. These thoughts go through my head because I know I shift involunatrily. Yet nothing has happened yet. However it's good to plan for the future.

ya but we have human minds despite prey drive. when i shift I never thought of our girls as food. I KNOW they are not food. I know a Werewolf who had cats all his life and still does and never thought about eating them even when he is a wolf.I don't understand why someone would be like o you own rats but your a cat. *sighs* i am not offended ect. But most of the time that *human* part of yourself overrides the other when it comes to that.

just my take and experience on the matter. I have shifted a bit before and had that prey drive and I never thought of our girls as food even at that time. I knew they were our little girls and not food. And sorry I am still tired. So i am not trying to come off as a certain way.

now with mice, I do not and cannot bond with mice. My husbands not even a cat and he cannot eather. Mice are too.. derpy. Not much personality like rats. So when i shift and that prey/hunting drive comes, I may have it for mice. but I know enough that our girls are not to be harmed.

ya rats are very different from mice. Mice are just derpy. I even watched the vid of a domestic serval owner feeding him live mice (at least once a month or so for Servals they NEED a raw diet cannot eat catfood.) And I felt no empathy for the mouse. if my prey drive surged, then ya mice would possibly be on my prey list. but rats because of that familiarity and such rats are off my list. But mice, Chicken, turkey ect possibly on my list. It was when i Shifted and had that drive before.

lol hope I am making some sort of sense. Also true cats have bonded with strange pets. Some cats bonded with rats in humans homes since they were babies. Its not THAT unheard of. Dogs and cats raised together also have friendships. but I think everyone gets the picture now I hope..
